Talbot Road starts at the Chepstow Road end with a terrace, Nos. 20-42. The buildings are on five storeys (including a basement). The nicest housing is on the south side and it is made up of small numbers of Victorian semi-detached houses and short terraces, because the road is interrupted by the Artesian Village roads running north.
These houses generally have a country town air to them and are on basement, ground and two upper storeys; many have rooms which have been added in the pitched roofs. The houses are generally painted in pastel shades and many of them have attractive rounded windows.
